With your own web site you are unrestricted to put as many photographs of yourself (or anyone for that matter!) that you want people to see, as well as video, demo reels, your bio, your contact information and more. People can also print your picture and resume straight from your site.

When you have your own website (and if you get it early enough), it is usually your own name as the address. This is much easier for you and others to remember than some long address with your name hopefully stuck at the end, which is actually promoting another company. And every time you tell someone your address, they are once more hearing your name and more likely to remember you for feature roles in any production they might be involved in.

Take a look at almost ANY top actor and you'll see they don't even own their own name!! These cyber-vampires (sometimes called cyber-squatters) do this in hopes that you make it big and then they can sell you back your domain name for the big bucks and quite often will put up porn or something else you don't want associated with your name to make you more interested in coming up with big bucks.
